THINGS TO DO! Weekend of February 1-3, 2019

We finally made it to February! January was the month that would just never end!

February is a short month but sometimes it can be the coldest, longest month as well. We have no idea what could come with this month! Fortunately, it’s a very packed month – as this weekend calendar will show you.  There is so much going on, starting with a fun event this Saturday, Take Your Child to the Library Day. We posted on this earlier in the week so if you have the day off, make sure you stop by the library for some fun events!

The weather is milder and may even warm up before the end of Sunday. If you are looking to get out of the house, you can head to Mystic Aquarium or Beardsley Zoo, which are always open.  If you want to stay inside, the Connecticut Science Center will be the place to go on Saturday for $5 admission on their Community Day.  It’s also Groundhog Day on Saturday, so you’ll find tons of fun events celebrating that fact, including the popular Groundhog Day event at Lutz Children’s Museum (if you are an early riser, you should definitely check that out)!

Sunday will be our day to enjoy some football. If you’re a fan, then you will want to check out our guide on hosting a Superbowl party. If you are not a fan, then you’ll still find plenty to do outside of the house on Sunday!

Next week will hopefully be a week free of snow days and delays. We need a normal week! Pretty soon February break will be here and the kids will be home for a few days, so I know I need some days where this kid is actually in school for an entire day!

Enjoy the weekend everyone.  Go New England Patriots!!

Oh, one last thing. If you have a second, please vote for This Connecticut Mom on The Hartford’s Best of List! We were nominated for best blogger!! Thanks!!

**Please check before you head out that an event is still happening. Winter is officially here and things do get canceled/delayed/postponed when there is bad weather. I cannot always update the calendar with cancellations, so it is important that you click on the links provided or call before you head out.
