Can you believe it’s almost 2020? I say it every year, but this year flew by!
Typically, New Year’s Eve is a “grown-up” celebration but there are plenty of events going on during the day on New Year’s Eve for the kids to count down to 2020!
So, grab a glass of sparkling cider, shake your noisemaker and start singing Auld Lang Syne!

Starting at 8 a.m., celebrate the day with skiing all day, followed by a Torchlight Parade just before midnight.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., celebrate the New Year in Holyoke with access to the Merry-Go-Round, the Children’s Museum, Forest Park Zoo on the Go, face painting, special shows and characters, music and even a ball drop! All included in the admission of just $8.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., celebrate the biggest party of the year! There will be crafts including making confetti and masks, dancing, a visit from Father Time & Baby New Year, a parade at 11:30 a.m., a ball drop at noon and more! Admission is $6 for members and $12 for non-members.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy activities, crafts and more as you count down to the big balloon drop at noon!
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join the Children’s Museum of Southern Connecticut and East Lyme Parks & Recreation for a celebration with a 250+ balloon drop at noon, fun science demonstrations and activities, crafts, food and more! Cost is $8 for members or $10 for nonmembers – register early and save $2 per person.
From 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., enjoy a full day of festivities in downtown including fireworks at 6:15 p.m., entertainment, kid friendly activities and more! Admission is $8 for kids (day and evening events); free for 2 and under. Adults are $20 for day and evening events; or $16 if you pre-purchase your button before December 30.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., bring your child (crawler through age 5) for open play with a countdown and ball drop at noon!
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., celebrate the New Year with a fun party at TLGT! There will be play time, a craft, dancing and more! Suggested ages 1-5. The cost is $15 per child ($10 for each additional sibling). Register online.
At 10:30 a.m., children ages 2 to 6 can join Sunnyside Up for a special Noon Year’s Eve celebration with stories, movement and a simple craft. Drop in.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., enjoy a party with the family! Mr. Willy will be bringing his live performance; in addition to a healthy spread, enjoy a catered Make your Own Cupcake Bar; Candy Inspired Mocktails, Family Bingo & other activities, Ball Drop and more. The cost is $45 per family; registration required. Perfect for families with children ages 0-5.
At 11 a.m., enjoy a family-friendly program filled with fun activities, dancing, food and a countdown to noon. Registration is required.
At 11 a.m., come celebrate the New Year with a countdown to Noon! Children can celebrate the holiday early, and make New Year’s crafts starting at 11 a.m. until the countdown to noon.
At 11 a.m., ring in the new year with stories, dancing, crafts and a special New Year countdown! Registration is required.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy a fun celebration with bounce houses, children’s DJ, games, dances, tattoos, a countdown at noon, kid’s friendly buffet and more! Packages starting at $20 (per person in advance).
At 11 a.m., come count down to noon with the library and Enfield Plays On during this hour long celebration!
From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., count down the New Year with fun activities and crafts, and a countdown at noon! Drop in.

At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., dance and ring in 2020 with family and friends! Tickets are available at the Noah Webster Library Children’s Circulation Desk. There are two parties – pick the time that works best for you!
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., come for breakfast and celebrate the New Year early! The cost is $23.41 per person and includes a breakfast buffet, $10 Power Card with unlimited video game play.
At 11:30 a.m., enjoy a rocking child-friendly version of New Year’s Eve with scavenger hunts, crafts, dancing and a super-cool “glowing” count down to noon! Snacks will be served. Registration is required.
At 11:45 a.m., celebrate the excitement of New Year’s Eve at noon with a balloon drop, sparkling cider and a craft. For ages prek to grade 3. Drop in.
From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be skating, party favors, prizes and a big balloon drop at 4 p.m.! Admission is $9.50.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., end the year with special family fun at the Aquarium, including a countdown to 12 o’clock! New Year’s Eve activities are included with admission.
From 2 p.m. to midnight, celebrate the New Year with a full day of activities and events including music, performances, fireworks and much more at 20 plus venues throughout the city. A wristband will get you into the activities. Tickets are $12 for adults, $3 for ages 3 to 15 and free for ages 2 and under. Visit the website for where to pre-buy the wrist bands; otherwise, wristbands can be purchased at select locations on the day of the event.
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., enjoy family fun activities at Woodland Elementary School and the Southwick Rec Center including a bonfire, fireworks, s’mores, crafts and activities, music and more!
From 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., enjoy a night of family fun! Admission and events are free!
From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., enjoy a drive through the lights at Bright Nights! Stop by Santa’s Magical Forest for a free noisemaker or hat and a free amusement ride for the children!
