As much as I do not like the summer heat, I do love when June rolls around because that means it’s time for my favorite thing: Farmers’ Markets!
And the Farmers’ Markets in Connecticut are incredible! They pop up weekly in almost every town. Some are small but perfect for the towns folk, others are huge and attract visitors from all over. Some only sell vegetables and fruit, while others may have fresh meats for sale or dairy products, and then you have a few vendors that sell goods like handmade clothing or jewelry.
Every summer, we make a neighborhood tour of the Farmers’ Markets in Connecticut and try to discover new one every year. We can’t wait to see what farmers’ markets we find this year!
The list is even longer this year – we’ve more than doubled it, but it doesn’t even crack the surface on the Farmers’ Markets in Connecticut! You can also check the CT NOFA website for more information (including a thorough list of Farmers’ Markets in Connecticut)!

TCM Comments: This market is average sized- but draws in many people (enough to warrant traffic direction from the Avon Police)! It’s held weekly in the library parking lot, and only runs for a short two months of summer, so make sure to plan to catch it early on in the season! Vendors vary weekly, but you’ll find lots of fresh veggies, breads, cheeses, and gelato!
