**This post was written in 2020. Please continue to follow our blog for up-to-date seasonal guides!**
Last month, our fingers were stained red from picking strawberries… and now it’s time to turn them blue.
Blueberry season is here!
I love picking blueberries, more than strawberries actually! Even though the berries are smaller, I like being able to stand up and see things at eye level. It’s much better on the knees and back. What can I say, I’m getting old!
There are so many options for pick-your-own blueberries in Connecticut (and a few in Western Massachusetts); I was actually pretty overwhelmed when I created this list!
Many farms offering pick-your-own blueberries in Connecticut have already started picking; some are not picking until next week. I’ll try to update the opening dates as I hear about them. It’s important to always call the farm for current picking conditions (some even put updates on their Facebook page.) Always, it’s important to carry cash on hand when going to picking since many farms are cash only (some take check, a few take credit); best to be prepared!
**Remember, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, blueberry picking may be affected. Please review the social distancing rules set in place by each farm before heading out!**
Happy picking everyone!

**As with all of our lists and guides, this list for Pick-Your-Own Blueberries is not all-inclusive. We miss things. But we love reader suggestions and comments, so if you know of a Pick-Your-Own Blueberries farm, let us know!
Hi CT Mom, thanks for compiling such an informative post! I just wanted to let you know that Tikkanen’s Berry Farm in Sterling, CT (Windham County) also has blueberries for picking! We are located at 218 Calvin French Rd (right over the border with Rhode Island), and we are open Thursdays-Mondays 8:30AM-4:30PM, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We have a website at https://tikkanens-berry-farm.business.site/ and Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/tikkanenberryfarm that visitors can check for updated info. And as you mentioned, it’s always best to call first at (860) 774-0177 to ensure we are open and ready for visitors. Thank you for running this great site!
