Easter is late this year- falling on April 21. However, you’ll find that everyone is getting Spring-fever already! And that means it’s time for Egg Hunts, Bunnies and more!
The Easter bunnies are hopping into most of the malls this weekend. Easter egg hunts will start popping up soon, and many are falling on the same days (so you’ll have to make the tough choice on which one(s) to pick). If you are hoping to do a special event that require reservations, you’ll want to book fast because those can fill up quickly!
So get hopping and make your plans!
I’ve broken up this guide by mall photo events, egg hunts, breakfast with the Easter bunny, train-related Easter events, and a few special activities at the end. I hope you find at least one special event for your family, if not more! Connecticut certainly loves Easter!

Where can I take photographs with the Easter Bunny?

Sensory Friendly Bunny Visits at the Malls:
You can find extra special Easter Bunny events at many local malls with subdued and welcoming environments for children with special needs and their families. Many require online registration.

Who wants to go on an Egg Hunt!
On April 6 at 9 a.m., the Young Women’s League of New Canaan will be hosting an egg hunt for families in the community!
On April 6, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., join the fun at the annual Easter egg hunt with pictures with the Easter bunny, crafts, games and more! Free for members of the Y. Community is welcome: $5 per child or $15 per family.
On April 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a fun day with an egg hunt, bounce houses, cupcake contest, arcade games, bowling and more. Wristbands are on sale now. The FREE egg hunt registration is FULL.
On April 13, starting at 11 a.m., the Easter bunny will be visiting the farm! There will be games, raffles, wagon rides, meet and greets with the bunny and a continual egg hunt. Admission is $10 per participating child. This event can sell out so buy your tickets early online!
On April 13, 14 and 20, there will be four sessions with a fun hunt on the trails where children can gather eggs in the woods, then head indoors to meet some live animals and create a craft. Kids will turn in their found eggs for a goody bag. The cost is $20 per child for members or $25 per child for non-members (one free adult per paid child and $5 for additional adults). Please call to register and pre-pay.
On April 13 at 10 a.m., children can participate in a fun egg hunt, watch the juggling show, pose for photos with the Easter bunny and enjoy a couple crafts! Free!

On April 13 at 12 p.m., come out for an egg hunt! For ages 2-12. Free.
On April 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., drop in for a free easter egg hunt in support of Jacob’s Park.
On April 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a one of a kind family fun event! Search for thousands of Lyman’s own apples in a hay maze, enjoy a free magic show, get your face painted and more! For children ages 1-10 years old. Admission is $8 per child. All children must be pre-registered online in advance!
On April 13, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., children of all ages are welcome to the library’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Baskets for collecting eggs will be provided. Advance registration is required for this event. Sign up in person at the library or by phone before Friday, April 12.
On April 13, starting at 10 a.m., enjoy an egg hunt and a visit with the Easter Bunny! Pre-registration required. Free with admission.
On April 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., come out for egg hunts, cookie decorating, storytime, photos with the bunny, musical entertainment, pet the ponies, and more! Admission is FREE with a non-perishable donation to the Farmington Food Pantry.
On April 14, from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., join in for an egg hunt at My Gym in Enfield. Egg Hunt times will vary by age. See website for details. The cost is $7 per child for members and $10 for non-members. Preregistration is required as space is limited.
On April 16 at 4 p.m., children age 8 and under are given a map of Stew’s and a bag to collect Easter treats! There will be prizes and a chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny. This is a free event but you must have a ticket. Tickets are available now on a first come, first serve basis!!
CANCELLED! On April 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., come out for an egg hunt and a visit with the Spring bunny! Egg hunt times vary by age, with a flashlight egg hunt for ages 6-11 at 7:45 p.m. Free. Bring a flashlight!
RAIN OR SHINE!! On April 19 at 9 a.m., children will hunt for eggs at varying times (please see their website for more details). The event is free but please bring a donation of non-perishable food item for the food bank.
INDOORS! On April 19 at 11 a.m., children will get to collect eggs and then exchange them for a goody bag to take home (egg hunts will run continuously from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and be divided into two age groups), meet with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a variety of activities. INDOORS! On April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., children will get to collect eggs outside of the nature center. Please bring a basket and earn a special surprise! Make sure to visit the farm animals and the Easter bunny while you are there! Admission is $7 per child (free for children under 12 months).
STILL ON! On April 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., children ages 2 to 8 can participate in this annual tradition of collecting foil wrapped chocolate eggs in the park! Locations and times of the egg hunts vary by age throughout the park! Free.
INDOORS! On April 20, at 1 p.m., enjoy an egg hunt throughout the store. Egg baskets will be provided. Please sign up in store or by calling.
INDOORS! On April 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy a full day of family fun with five egg hunts, fun activities, and more! Free with museum admission.
STILL ON! On April 20, starting at 11 a.m., enjoy a fun egg hunt (times vary by age), face painting, bounce house, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more! Bring your Easter basket and your appetite. The ice cream parlor will be open! Donation of $3 to Our Companions Animal Rescue requested.
INDOORS! On April 20, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., members of the aquarium are invited to join the fun at an egg hunt at the aquarium! The cost is $5 for children ages 3-12 (accompanying adults are free). Bring your own bucket! See website for egg hunting times (vary by age).
INDOORS! On April 20, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., children ages 12 and under can enjoy an ongoing egg hunt (please bring a basket), as well as a chance to meet the animals in the museum, play in the bear cave and do a craft. $5 for members, $8 for nonmembers.
RAIN OR SHINE! On April 20, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be an egg hunt at noon sharp for children age 3, and then each age group will follow throughout the hour. Children two and under can meet with Mr. Bunny at the gazebo at noon, and then after the hunts are over, children ages 3 and up can meet with Mr. Bunny . Please bring your camera. In the event of rain, all eggs will be available at the Gazebo. Free.
RAIN OR SHINE!! On April 20 at 10 a.m., children can search for over 16,000 candy filled eggs! Please bring a basket. Free. For ages 1-10.
STILL ON FOR APRIL 20- RAIN DATE APRIL 27! On April 20, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., enjoy events and activities including DJ Entertainment, Children’s Crafts, pictures with the bunny, food trucks, face painting and a magician! Participants are encouraged to bring their own basket for egg collections. Participants are allowed 10 eggs maximum. Registration is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. For all ages. Free.
RAIN OR SHINE! On April 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., enjoy an egg hunt on the town green! Bring your own basket or bag to collect eggs. Times vary by age. There will also be a chance for pictures with the Easter Bunny.

On April 6 at 9:30 a.m., hop over to visit with the Easter bunny and enjoy a light breakfast. There will be Easter themed arts and craft projects and an egg hunt. Please register in person or by phone. The cost is $15 for non-members.
On April 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny, take a photo and enjoy some delicious ice cream! There will also be a craft for the children. Admission is $3 per person or $12 per family. No need to register.
On April 13, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., enjoy this special event presented by the Jaycees. There will be food and fun – including crafts, face painting, and pictures with the Easter bunny. Admission is free. Registration not needed. Donations are appreciated.
On April 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., enjoy breakfast, an egg hunt, egg decorating, raffles and more! The Easter Bunny will be there also! Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family of four or more.

On April 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., take a short hike and search for brightly colored eggs filled with treats as well as decorated and camouflaged eggs that resemble wild bird eggs which are all carefully hidden along the trails. $3.00 per person (Windsor resident); $5.00 per person (non-resident).
